Rules

We do have a few rules that need to be followed at Rising Stars; all necessary to maintain a positive learning environment for your dancer.  They are as follows:

  • Please remember that the studio will open 15 minutes before the first scheduled class of the day.
  • All students will be required to come to their lessons properly dressed.  If your dancer is not properly dressed he/she may be asked to sit out for that class.
  • NO dancers are allowed in the dance rooms without a teacher present.  Please remind your STAR to wait in the hallway until the instructor ushers them in.
  • NO gum will be allowed in the dance rooms at any time due to the danger of choking.
  • NO beverages or food of any kind will be allowed in the dance rooms at any time.  If your child is bringing a snack for their break time, please be sure they understand that they must dispose of their own garbage before leaving the studio.
  • No bare midriffs.
  • Blue jeans, denim shorts/capris and dresses are not allowed.
  • Hair must be pulled back into either a bun, braid or ponytail for every lesson.
  • All ballerinas must have their bows tucked inside their shoes at all times, even if they are tied.
  • No jewelry should be worn in the dance room
  • The office (and everything in it) is for staff only.  Please teach your dancer to enter their dance room through the main doorway and parents, please watch your dancer through the provided viewing windows.
  • For safety reasons, students will not be allowed to wait outside for their rides.  Parents must please come inside to pick your dancer up.
  • One last thing, please label your child’s shoes and batons.  It’s so easy to get them mixed up because they all look alike! (Should something get lost, the Lost and Found is located in our lobby).

I know this seems like a lot of rules but they are all for very good reasons.  If you have questions about any of them, pleases ask any of the staff.  We will be glad to answer your questions.
